About The Area
Lake Oconee is Georgia’s second-largest lake and a popular destination for relaxation and recreation. Places like Lake Oconee are rare. Its beauty and authenticity are self-evident, yet unknown to the masses. While this 19,000 acre lake may seem rustic and remote to some, you need only explore a little to see this area has the best of both world... serene and peaceful lake living with nearby convenience. Lake Oconee offers the very qualities cherished by those who experience it. Located halfway between Atlanta and Augusta, the time of your life is closer than you think. It can't be too rough if the Ritz picked as the location for its 12,000-acre luxury development.

JUMPING ROCK
The famous Jumping Rock at Lake Oconee stands 10ft tall and is loved by many. It’s also the perfect location for a few action shots. Pull up the boat, and swim right up to this nature-made playground. The Rock is located on the south end of the lake before you get to the dam and is accessible only by water. The GPS coordinates are 33.37912365108089, -83.18434546931657.
SAND BAR
Amazingly, there is a place in the middle of Lake Oconee where the water is only about waist-deep. Aptly known as “The Sandbar,” it’s the perfect spot to lounge on the lake. There, you’ll often find several boats anchored closely together, as it’s a popular meeting place for all. And while it can be a bit more boisterous on the weekends, it’s not really a ‘spring-break’-type of atmosphere. People boat up with kids all the time, especially since it’s shallow and an ideal place to swim. The Sandbar is about a 10-minute boat ride from Jumping Rock. The closest boat launch is Armor Bridge at the end of Brown’s Ford Road. The GPS coordinates are 33.4533417923, -83.1973084562.
